Question: Can a minor file a trademark application?
Answer: This depends upon state law. If the person can validly enter into binding legal obligations in the state, then that person may sign a trademark application. Otherwise, a parent or legal guardian must sign the application.

Answer:
Adopted on October 27, 1994, entered into force on August 1, 1996. Thirty-three states, including the United States, are party to the TLT as of July 1, 2005.
Question: Do I have to be a U.S. Citizen to obtain a federal registration?
Answer:
No. However, an applicant's citizenship must be set forth in the record. If an applicant is not a citizen of any country, then a statement to that effect is sufficient.
